The FIDLOCK Principle

With one-of-a-kind magnetic fastening technology, FIDLOCK offers innovative, easy-to-use fastening concepts that revolutionise the market and its traditional solutions.

This success is all down to the multi-patented FIDLOCK Principle, which combines the advantages of two fastening concepts in a way that has never been done before and is used for all FIDLOCK fasteners: the innovative, award-winning fastening system combines neodymium magnets that can be slid laterally with stable, mechanical snap functionality that ensures a high locking force. One important feature common to all FIDLOCK fasteners is that the opening procedure differs from the closing procedure: when closing, the magnets move towards each other as a result of the attractive force and are automatically securely locked when they connect thanks to the mechanical snap functionality, an especially practical procedure that takes place automatically.

Depending on the product group or fastener concept, fasteners with the FIDLOCK Principle are opened by sliding laterally, tilting, rotating or – in the case of a double lock – in two steps.

When the fastener is closed, the magnets are joined firmly together by attractive force and the snap functionality fixes the fastener. When moved, for example when Big Turn or Mini Turn fasteners are rotated, the polarity of the magnets is reversed, causing them to repel each other, which supports the opening procedure.
