Joe Barnes

The Scottish enduro rider lives what he loves. When he’s not on the bike himself, he’s behind the camera for extraordinary video projects – usually between the barriers at races!

The extraordinary videographer is also a gifted mountain biker himself. With over 40 national races won and a podium finish at the EWS, he has shown that he is capable of much more. Even in his youth, Joe raced downhill and already here he won the Scottish Elite Championship twice.

His love of two-wheeling motivates him on more than just his bike. Creating content that makes people smile and inspires them to get involved with the sport – that’s his deepest motivation. With his races eliminated due to the pandemic, space and time for new projects emerged. To dedicate himself to his passion in a different way, Joe took a whole new path. With his team colleague Fergus Lamb, he started the video blog Hazzard Racing. With his video blog, he can now balance that motivation with his passion for cycling.

“And the balance I have now is great and I’m looking forward to what’s to come.”

For Joe, his goals in the coming years are thus quite clear: not only to chase further victories on the bike himself but also to create something unique with his videos. Something that will be his legacy for future generations. For his son, for example, who is currently following in his father’s footsteps.
