The top 100 casting from the job of your lifetime 

We spent two days at the Düsseldorf airport amid 100 happy (and very excited) candidates, selected from 1,000 applicants for the first casting round of the “job of your life”

Of course, we couldn’t miss out on the opportunity to personally be at the top 100 casting of the JDL and get to know the job of your lifetime recruiters! In a relaxed atmosphere, we could chat with the candidates again and get to know them better. Urlaubsguru made the location very cosy and inviting: there was a ball pit, a dart board, a play station, a photo booth, delicious food, and drinks to take away the jitters of the candidates. Before and after their pitch, they could get to know each other in a relaxed atmosphere and connect with like-minded travel fans. Just before their turn, many also took a moment to take a deep breath and enjoy the fantastic view directly onto the runway of Düsseldorf Airport.
Some candidates even flew in to be able to take part in the casting. Their departure countries ranged from Italy, Croatia and Austria to Bali and the Dominican Republic.
Of course, our travel essentials were not missing either. The candidates had the opportunity to test and get to know our products. The products were examined and tried out with great interest. Throwing their cell phones into our aquarium, protected by our HERMETIC bags, was a great spectacle every time for everyone present.

The excitement for the pitch is rising!

The taking off planes made us want to go on vacation. Additionally, it caused the candidates to be even more excited about what was to come. Without any specifications on the part of Urlaubsguru, they had the chance to prove themselves within a 5-minute pitch. These included anything from singing and dancing to classical narrations and PowerPoint presentations. A short question and answer session about traveling concluded the casting – which was over faster than the candidates thought!To make the whole thing even more exciting, each jury member had a “WILD CARD” – a card that allowed them to vote a candidate directly into the top 10 casting. Three candidates already received the WILD card on Saturday. The other two jury members drew their WILD CARD on Sunday!

We’re looking forward to the top 10 casting, set for November 5th, directly at the Urlaubsguru office in Holzwickede. The best of the best will meet again and battle it out in exciting challenges. Of course, we have also thought up a little challenge, but we will tell you about it next time. So stay tuned!
