University meets innovation: FIDLOCK in action
As part of a university project in collaboration with the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and the University of Technology Sydney as well as the Thammasat Design School, student teams developed creative product concepts based on FIDLOCK technology. Their goal was to address real-world challenges across a range of self-selected fields using innovative magnetic-mechanical fastening solutions. The resulting prototypes impressively demonstrate the versatility and potential of FIDLOCK technology.

„Summit Conquered, Sea Awaits“
– The revolutionary swim fin
The challenge:
Anyone who has ever swum with fins knows the problem: difficult to put on, uncomfortable on land, almost impossible to tighten in the water. The team recognised enormous potential for an intuitive solution here - especially for divers and snorkellers.
Development process & learnings:
The project team relied on real tests and interviews with divers in order to precisely understand the needs of the users. The choice of materials, wearing comfort and safety mechanism were precisely harmonised - with impressive results.

Development team: Summit Conquered, Sea Awaits
The creative team behind the ‘Summit Conquered, Sea Awaits’ project is Group 8, consisting of Yang Ao, Wang Yilin, Charli Hammond and Poom Tuwakhum. With a shared interest in innovative product solutions and a flair for functional design, they have developed a new type of swim fin that can be put on and taken off quickly using FIDLOCK fastening technology - even underwater.
Their different professional perspectives and close collaboration contributed significantly to the practicality and originality of this prototype.
This video shows a university project prototype. It does not represent a final product. There were no collaborations with any brands other than FIDLOCK.
